Commission Process
Step 1. Share your vision and desired size
To start, please share the following:
- Let me know the size you are thinking of. I am happy to help guide on this during our consultation, according to your space/wall size.
- What you would like the painting to focus on and the mood or vibe you would like the piece to convey? Any particular colours you would like included?
- Reference photos, ideas, or even just a feeling you’d like the piece to capture. Whether it’s a specific marine creature, or a photo of your favorite travel memory or coastline, I’ll work with what inspires you. If you have a particular animal, location or scene in mind, I can also assist with photo research to find the perfect reference.
You can use the contact form to send me a quick message with your initial thoughts on what you are looking for and I will be in touch to understand your requirements.
Step 2. Consultation, desired timeline and pricing quote
We will discuss your requirements over email, or I will schedule a call with you to discuss your vision, preferences and any questions you may have.
Timeline: If this piece is for a special occasion, please let me know upfront. I typically ask for 8–10 weeks from the time we finalize details, but I’ll always try to accommodate when I can. Based on your requirements and vision, I will provide a price quote for the painting and timeline.
Step 3: Deposit and initial concepts
A 50% deposit secures your commission and covers materials and the first stages of the painting process. If needed, I’ll provide a few composition options so you can choose the direction you love most. Once you give the go-ahead, I dive into the painting process.
Step 4: Review the completed piece
You’ll receive high-quality photos of the finished painting. You’ll have one round of revisions (within reason) to make sure it’s everything you hoped for.
If the final piece doesn’t resonate with you, there is no obligation to pay the remaining balance or keep the painting. I want you to truly love what we create.
Once finalized, your piece is sealed and packed with care. The final balance (plus shipping and any framing costs) is due prior to delivery. I will arrange for the painting to be securely shipped to you as soon as you are happy and the final balance is paid.
